About Calhoun Trailhead
Founded in 1835, Calhoun is the oldest town in Henry County. It earned its nickname, “Jugtown,” because of the pottery factories that once operated here. Coal was also a big industry. At Lewis (milepost 259.5) you’ll find that only a few houses remain where there was once a thriving export center for coal.
