Missouri State Parks administers three federally funded grant programs and one state-funded grant program related to outdoor recreation. It also administers one federally funded grant program related to historic preservation. This page provides basic information about each program.

Purchase a Gift Card

A Missouri State Parks gift card lets you take advantage of a more convenient way to make camping reservations, purchase state park merchandise and give great gifts to your friends. A gift card can be purchased for $10 or more. Physical gift cards purchased online or by phone will be sent by postal mail. Please allow seven to 10 business days for delivery. E-gift cards will sent to the email address on your customer account within 24 hours.

Visitors to Missouri’s state historic sites have a wealth of experiences awaiting them, from touring Civil War battlefields to seeing the birth sites of Mark Twain and Harry S Truman.

Purchase an ORV Permit - ORV Riding

ORV permits can be bought online for up to three days of riding. Riders can purchase their ORV permit before arriving to the park. Permits are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Rent a Watercraft - Paddling

Watercrafts are available for all-day and half-day rentals. A watercraft agreement will be completed at the park. A driver's license will be obtained by the park office and kept there until all rented equipment is returned.

Reserve a Meeting Space

Several parks and historic sites offer meeting spaces. Visit the Park Site & Status Map to decide which space is right for you and use the reservation system to stake your claim on your date.

Please read the additional information provided below about the reservation policies. These enhanced reservation services will be more convenient and customer friendly while providing equal opportunity for all individuals to use and enjoy these facilities.

Reservation Window and Minimum Stays

Reservations may be made beginning 12 months in advance up until 7 p.m. CT the day prior to arrival.

  • For any major summer holiday weekend, altering the arrival date to a later date will result in forfeiture of one lodging night if the reservation was originally made within the first month of the 12-month reservation window.
  • A two-night minimum stay on the weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday) is required for all Centralized Reservation System lodging units except the campers cabins at Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park.
  • Holiday weekends require a three-night minimum stay (Friday/Saturday/Sunday).

Payment and Acceptable Methods

Full payment is due at the time the reservation is made.

  • Pay by credit card or debit card backed by Mastercard, Visa or Discover.
  • Electronic payment methods will be accepted as late as 7 p.m. Thursday for a Friday evening arrival.
  • Confirmation is made when applicable fees are paid.

Change and Cancel Fees

A change fee is charged to add or delete dates or change the type of unit reserved at one facility. Moving your reservation to a different time period is considered a cancellation with applicable cancellation fees.

  • Cancellations at least four days prior to arrival will result in a refund of all lodging fees less the cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations less than four days prior to arrival will result in a forfeiture of one lodging night plus the cancellation fee.
  • Early departures after arrival may result in forfeiture of lodging fees.
  • For any major summer holiday weekend, altering the arrival date to a later date will result in forfeiture of one lodging night if the reservation was originally made within the first month of the 12-month reservation window.
  • Changes are accepted up to four days prior to arrival.

Check-in and Checkout

Check-in is at 3 p.m. Checkout is at 11 a.m. Late departure fees may be charged after 11 a.m.

  • A reservation confirmation letter contains valuable information about your reservation and should be read upon receipt to verify the information. Also, bring the confirmation letter with you to assist with check-in procedures
