Regulations and Safety Information

Dispersed camping is permitted anywhere along Locust Creek Riparian Trail. If you have any questions about what is allowed on the trail, feel free to call the park office.

Backpackers must register before starting their trip. Camping is free, but registration is required.

Campfires are prohibited. Stoves must be used for cooking.
Cutting implements such as saws and hatchets are not allowed on the trail.

Overnight Parking and Trailhead Location

Overnight parking for hikers is allowed at the Pershing State Park Locust Creek Boardwalk/Riparian Trail parking lot off Ellen Road. Trailhead location: 39.75498, -93.21718.
