Let us get ready to greet the new year by taking a closer look at what was\, what is\, and what may be! \nAlthough less than a mile in length\, North Ridge Trail is considered moderately difficult because of its natural terrain and steep grades. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. You may also want to bring a pair of binoculars.  \nThis program is free and open to the public\, and there is no need to register. DESCRIPTION:5/3/2025 | Weston Bend State Park | Weston\, MO\nWings Over Weston is a celebration of bird migration and the arrival of spring. This annual event is a great way to learn all about birds and other spring phenomena. Activities planned for the day include hands-on arts and crafts (including opportunities to build a birdhouse or a pine cone feeder)\, games with prizes\, live bird exhibits\, a monarch butterfly program\, native plant sales\, and guided bird walks. \nMost activities will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. However\, the bird walks will start as early as 6:30 a.m. and will end by 10 a.m. Some of the bird walks require advance registration. See the schedule below for more information. We will meet at the North Ridge Trail trailhead and then stroll along Bear Creek and Weston Bluffs trails in search of all the birds we can find!  \nParticipants are encouraged to dress for the weather\, wear sturdy shoes\, and bring binoculars if they have them. A limited supply of binoculars will be available at the event. \nThis program is free\, open to the public\, and suitable for both expert and novice birders. In the event of inclement weather\, including temperatures below 20 degrees\, the program will be canceled.
