DESCRIPTION:5/16/2025 | Thousand Hills State Park | Kirksville\, MO\nIn honor of Endangered Species Day\, the public is invited to join park staff to learn about the plains spotted skunk\, the white ash tree and the Indiana bat\, all of which are endangered in Missouri. We will discuss each of these species and some ways that we can help them and other organisms. \nThis program will take place at the amphitheater in Campground 1\, but you do not have to be a camper to attend. The program is free and does not require registration. DESCRIPTION:May 17\, 2025\nOrganized by the National Parks Trust\, Kids to Parks Day is a nationwide celebration of the great outdoors and is designed to connect kids and families with their local\, state and national parks and public lands through thousands of events that promote discovery and exploration in the great outdoors. By discovering and exploring parks and public lands\, kids across the country can learn about park stewardship\, outdoor recreation\, natural history\, and the history and culture of our country. \nKids to Parks Day is traditionally recognized on the third Saturday in May and is on May 17 this year.
