DESCRIPTION:9/12/2025 | Thousand Hills State Park | Kirksville\, MO\nDo you or your little ones have an interest in fishing but lack experience? Then come learn to fish with us at Thousand Hills State Park. We’ll discuss fishing equipment and techniques and see what we can reel in from Forest Lake. \nThis event is free and open to the public\, and there is no need to register. A limited amount of bait and tackle will be provided; those who have their own gear are encouraged to bring it. \nA fishing license is required for all participants aged 16-64 and for those 65 and older who are not Missouri residents. Day permits can be purchased at the Missouri Department of Conservation’s Northeast Regional Office in Kirksville or online. \nWe will meet at the shoreline in front of the cabins. Learn why reptiles are important and which ones can be found at the park. You may have the chance to meet live animals at these events. \nThese programs are free and open to the public\, and there is no need to register. The programs are scheduled to take place at the amphitheater in Campground 1\, but you do not have to be a camper in order to attend.
