SUMMARY:City Tree Farm Pop-Up Potting
DESCRIPTION:4//22/25 | Scott Joplin State Historic Site | St. Louis\, Mo.\nThe public is invited to celebrate Earth Day by participating in a tree potting event at Scott Joplin House State Historic Site in St. Louis. Volunteers will be joined by staff members from the historic site and representatives from Forest ReLeaf of Missouri. After the baby trees are potted\, they will be transported to Forest ReLeaf’s Creve Coeur nursery\, where they will spend the summer before being planted at various locations throughout the St. Louis metro area. \nThe event will take place at the corner of Samuel Shepard Drive and North Beaumont Street\, at the southwestern edge of the historic site’s property. This area is being developed into a Forest ReLeaf City Tree Farm\, which will serve as nursery in the heart of St. Louis City. \nVolunteers should dress for the weather and the dirt and bring water and sunscreen. Event coordinators will provide gloves\, snacks and training\, and they will even give away some fun prizes. Guided tours of the Scott Joplin House will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Information about tour fees and reservations can be found on the historic site’s tours page. \nThe tree potting is free\, but online registration is required.
