DESCRIPTION:11/1/2025 | Missouri State Museum | Jefferson City\, MO\nJoin us on the lawn of the Lohman Building for a backyard movie night at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site. As requested by last year’s attendees\, we’ll be showing the 1953 mystery-horror film “House of Wax.” The movie is just under 90 minutes long and features Missouri’s own Vincent Price in the lead role. \nThis event is free and open to the public\, and there is no need to register. Be sure to dress for the weather and bring lawn chairs\, blankets and snacks. \nIn the event of inclement weather\, the showing may be rescheduled. Likewise\, transportation development in Missouri has had a profound impact on both regional and national history. \nJoin museum interpreter Princess Garner for a dynamic journey through time as we explore Missouri’s role in the evolution of American transportation. This presentation will touch on historic moments\, surprising connections\, and the people who helped move the world forward. \nThis program is part of the Missouri State Museum’s Landing After Hours series. Landing After Hours is held the first Wednesday of each month at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site. You are invited to commemorate the return of this flag and learn more about the 2nd Missouri Cavalry Regiment\, better known as “Merrill’s Horse.” \nThis event will take place in the Capitol rotunda and will feature representatives from the museum\, as well as members of the Sons of Union Veterans’ Lillie Camp #6.
