SUMMARY:Eighth Annual Salt River Quilt Show
DESCRIPTION:10/4/2025 to 10/5/2025 | Mark Twain Birthplace State Historic Site | Florida\, MO\nThe Eighth Annual Salt River Quilt Show\, “Spirit of America\,” will be held the first weekend in October 2025 at the Mark Twain Memorial Shrine in Florida\, Missouri. Doors will open at 9 a.m. each day and will close at 4 p.m. on Saturday\, Oct. 4\, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday\, Oct. 5. Admission to the show and the associated programs is free to the public. However\, there is an entry fee of $5 per quilt for participating quilters. \nAmerica’s semiquincentennial is coming up! In celebrating our country’s 250th anniversary\, our quilt show theme is as all-encompassing as our nation! We invite entries that touch on our country’s history\, its natural wonders\, our American heroes\, your hopes for America\, or just whatever you love about America. What makes this country special to you? Because it’s ALL about celebrating the USA! See specific information on quilt categories by clicking on the link to the entry form below. \nEntry forms are required of participating quilters and are due by Friday\, Sept. 26\, along with the entry fee payments. If you cannot print the form from the link at the bottom of this page\, please call Marianne Bodine at 573-248-9983 to request a physical copy of the form. Funds from the entry fees will go the Monroe County Historical Society and will help the society’s efforts to preserve local history. Quilters may enter as many quilts as they wish. Quilts will be judged by an independent judge\, and ribbons and prizes will be awarded. \nThree programs will be given at the show: two on Saturday\, Oct. 4\, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.\, and one on Sunday\, Oct. 5\, at 1 p.m. The Saturday programs will feature storyteller and songwriter Heather Harlan\, and the Sunday program might include a bit of whimsy from Mark Twain himself! \nApproximately 100 quilts will be displayed and will wind their way through the Mark Twain Memorial Shrine and past the exhibits in the museum.
