DESCRIPTION:Want to see Missouri State Parks from a new perspective? Join our Learn2 Climb program to learn the basics of outdoor rock climbing safety and technique from a certified instructor\, and then try it out on real rock! This beginner-oriented course will allow you to enjoy nature from new heights! \nThe 2026 courses will take place at Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park\, managed by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources\, and Rockwoods Reservation\, managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation. This is a great opportunity to try out a new activity and experience some of Missouri’s vertical attractions. \nThis program is made possible by the Bronco Wild Fund. The Bronco Wild Fund has a mission in supporting agencies and organizations that are devoted to the great outdoors. A part of this fund is getting people out to enjoy the outdoors respectfully and continuing the preservation of all public lands.    \nLearn2 Climb is free and open to ages 10 and up. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. \nProgram Details\nMissouri State Parks Provides: \n\nHarnesses\nHelmets\nClimbing shoes\n\nYou Provide: \n\nA good attitude and a willingness to learn\nAppropriate clothing and footwear for a hike and rock climbing activities\nA packed lunch\nEnough water for the day\n\nThings to Consider Before You Register\n\nThere will be a hike to the rock wall. Participants should wear athletic clothing and sturdy shoes.\nParticipants will be sitting around in low activity\, and will also be hiking and climbing. Dressing in layers is highly encouraged so that participants can adapt to the weather conditions and the activity level.\nParticipants must be at least 10 years of age. Children ages 10-16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the entire program\, although parents/guardians are not required to climb.\nThere is an element of heights involved in this program. Participants should be relatively comfortable with the idea of being suspended off the ground.\nAll Missouri State Parks rules and regulations apply.\nLearn2 Climb is a family-oriented event. When you get to the registration website\, click on the green “Show sessions” box. A list of upcoming classes will pop up. Click on the green “Sign Up!” button to register for an event. All slots will be filled on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nRegister Here\nIf a class is full\, please enroll using the waitlist function. If an opening in the class becomes available\, you will be notified by the Learn2 staff via email or phone call. \nIf you have any questions\, please email Kintauna Myles with Missouri State Parks at kintauna.myles@dnr.mo.gov. \nWaitlist\nIf the activity you are looking to join is full\, please join our waitlist by signing up for that program on the registration tab. Once a cancellation has been approved\, a staff member will contact the first waitlist individual via email to prompt them to secure their spot within a 48-hour period. No response within that 48-hour time period will result in the customer being removed from the waitlist and the next individual being contacted. \nHow to Cancel a Reservation\nSeven or more business days in advance of the scheduled event date: Customers are able to cancel their reservations themselves and receive a full refund (when applicable). To cancel\, the customer should log in to their icampmo account\, find the reservations/activities that they are signed up for\, and hit “Cancel” for the reservation that they wish to cancel. \nSix or fewer business days in advance of the scheduled event date: Anyone needing to cancel a reservation six or fewer business days in advance of the scheduled event date should contact kintauna.myles@dnr.mo.gov. Per Missouri State Parks’ refund policy\, customers canceling an event registration six or fewer business days in advance of the scheduled event date agree to forfeit their reservation refund (when applicable)\, regardless of the circumstances. \nEvent Day Contact Not Available\nOrganizers will not be available for contact the day of the event.
