DESCRIPTION:6/7/2025 | Graham Cave State Park | Danville\, MO\nJoin us for a journey through time as we celebrate World Atlatl Day at Graham Cave State Park. The Missouri Chapter of the World Atlatl Association will be on-site to share the history and use of this ancient throwing tool. Predating the bow and arrow\, the atlatl was first used by humans in the Upper Paleolithic Period\, and archaeological evidence suggests that it was used around the world. \nIf you’ve never heard or used an atlatl\, you’re encouraged to come by and let us show you how it’s done. This program is free and open to the public\, and there is no need to register. All you need is a sun hat\, a pair of closed-toe shoes\, and some sunscreen and insect repellent.
