If so\, you are encouraged to participate in Crowder’s annual Amazing Race Challenge! \nInspired by the TV show “The Amazing Race\,” this event takes place on Crowder Lake and portions of the park’s trails. Participation is free and open to the public\, but registration is required. Come join us at Crowder State Park for Women in Nature’s weekend experience to learn some new skills\, taught by all female instructors. This event is intended to be educational and relaxing. Whether you are new to the outdoors or consider yourself an expert\, we will help you gain a few new skills and improve your techniques in a relaxed\, fun and supportive atmosphere. \nEvent Times:\n\nCheck in starting at 5 p.m. Friday\, Oct. 2\nPack out by 10 a.m. Sunday\, Oct. 4\n\nEvent Location and Accommodations:\n\nThe event will take place at Camp Grand River at Crowder State Park.\n\nCamp Grand River coordinates: 40.098003\, -93.666384\nPark address: 76 NW Highway 128\, Trenton\, Mo.\n\n\n\nAccommodations:\n\nBarracks-style cabins at Camp Grand River will be available on a first-come\, first-served basis upon arrival. This will be the perfect opportunity to join park staff to learn more about how to prepare and cook these types of ingredients. \nNature Trivia (Low*)\nEnjoy a fun game of nature trivia as you compete for fun prizes against your new nature-loving friends. \n\n*Physical Activity Guide:\nPlease be advised that WIN: Women in Nature programs are outdoor activities. Participants will be walking on tread surfaces that\, at times\, contain roots or embedded rocks and may have elevation changes. \nTo help participants anticipate each course and know what physical levels to expect\, a physical activity rating system has been created. SUMMARY:Halloween Trail Runs and Costume Contest
DESCRIPTION:10/31/2026 | Crowder State Park | Trenton\, Mo.\nCrowder State Park will be hosting Halloween trail runs on Saturday\, Oct. 31. There will be a 1-mile fun run on the group camp trail\, a 5K on Tall Oaks Trail\, a 10K on Tall Oaks and Redbud trails\, and a marathon on every section of trail in the park. There will also be a costume contest for all who participate in one of the runs. The costume contest will begin at 7:45 a.m.\, with the runs following immediately afterward\, at approximately 8 a.m. The costume contest will take place in the Shelter 3 parking lot\, which is also where all four runs will begin. \nSnacks and water will be available along the routes for participants. Medals will be given to the top three female and male finishers in each age group (18 and younger\, 19-59\, and 60 and over) in each distance. Awards will also be given for the top three places in the costume contest. \nOnline registration is required and must be completed by Oct. 20.
